TERRASTAR-D Precise Positioning Service is an accurate positioning service that is built to deliver positions anywhere on Earth at decimeter-level precision. It uses Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technology to delete or minimize all GNSS system errors by means of estimation, precise modeling or direct calculation.
No matter where the user is located, PPP maintains position precision, because it contains a set of corrections for satellite clocks and orbits. This highly precise accuracy is obtained for L1/L2 carrier phase type observations as well as P-Code and C/A measurements.
Local ionosphere errors are determined and removed by using hardware with GNSS dual-frequency capability. Simultaneously, the calculation estimates troposphere delays. Other error sources, such as phase windup, earth tides and ocean loading are also handled.
